Secure a personal piece of history in St Catherine’s Park

‘The Mill Cornerstones’ invites customers and supporters to invest in the development and extension of The Mill – securing a place in the future of St Catherine’s Park and the vital work that takes place here.

In return for their financial pledge, Cornerstones members will be celebrated on a unique commemorative feature in situ at The Mill. Names of those participating will be included on the installation, publically recognising their contribution to the ongoing success of The Mill, and in turn the sustainability of the hospice charity.

Earlier this year we announced that The Mill would be extending because demand exceeds capacity at peak times, and we often have to turn disappointed customers away. The extension will create extra seating and tables in a flexible space that can also be used for private functions like baby showers, birthdays and funeral receptions. A new modular shop will also be created.

We are investing in the development as part of our sustainability plans for the hospice, since we know from its success over the past five years that The Mill delivers regular, reliable income for St Catherine’s at the same time as attracting new support for the charity in other ways. We have been successful in securing some grant funding to help pay for the work and some funds will be borrowed, but we need our wonderful supporters’ help to generate the further capital required.

Stephen Greenhalgh, Chief Executive of St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “The Mill Cornerstones initiative offers local people and Central Lancashire businesses the chance to play a tangible and important part in the future The Mill and St Catherine’s Hospice, and to celebrate that connection and commitment publically through a commemorative feature which will be enjoyed for generations to come.

“Throughout our history, St Catherine’s has constantly innovated as it works to deliver its mission to help more local people facing life-shortening conditions to have quality of life, to the end of life. The extension of The Mill is another exciting chapter, and the Cornerstones campaign offers a way for our community to play a leading role in our story.

“We are looking for people who share our passion for The Mill to join with us in this exciting new scheme, celebrating what it has achieved so far and helping us to maximise its further potential for our local community and the hospice charity.”

Membership to The Mill Cornerstones is for a suggested donation of £250 for individuals/couples/families. It includes:

• Name entered on the commemorative Cornerstones display
• Welcome gift of The Mill Cornerstones earthenware mug in presentation box with St Catherine’s Blend Coffee
• Invitation to one of a series of exclusive launch events
• Bespoke ongoing Cornerstones communications updating on The Mill’s progress.
